Dear Lois,
Thank you so much for helping make our wedding ceremomy better than we ever conceived it could be - it was truly what we wanted and truly perfect.
The morning after the wedding my father pulled us aside and said he was glad we did it our own way, and that he was so happy with how it turned out.
After months of parental input and strife, we couldn't really believe we managed to make everyone happy.
Most importantly we were thrilled with it and will remember it always. Thank you so much!

Dear Lois,
Thank you for the wonderful job you did on the ceremony! Everyone and I mean EVERYONE thought you were fantastic and the perfect fit for Jeff and I.
His family and my family (devote Catholics) thought it was one of the BEST ceremonies they have ever seen and been a part of - and LOVED the symbols and rituals we chose to make it more spiritual versus religious.
Everyone is still talking about how great the ceremony was. Everything was so REAL & personalized. The story telling, and water ceremony, the sibling warming the rings, people felt like they were actually in the wedding not just witnesses.
Of course I knew you would be fabulous - but it has been very refreshing and a relief to have them say how touched they were by the thoughts, feelings and emotions we put into our ceremony. People paid attention and hung on every word that was spoken bc they were so intrigued as to what you or we would say or do next!
And last but not least - they loved the program (thanks for the ideas) - not having a timeline/ step by step - but instead giving them things to talk about.
Words cannot express how happy we are, having had you as our celebrant. It was better then I imagined it could be. I am so grateful we found each other and thank you again for being such an important part of our wedding day.
Regards, Rebecca

About Lois
Experience is one of many things I bring as a celebrant. As a full-time professional wedding officiant, I have performed literally over a thousand weddings and have countless ideas.
I began officiating weddings in 2005. Becoming a celebrant has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I honor many philosophies, beliefs and traditions - secular, spiritual, and interfaith. However, as a Humanist Celebrant, I do not conduct worship services. I will create a wonderful and unique ceremony that respects and reflects your values, your style, and your life.
I have worked as an educator and advocate in the battered women/anti-rape movement, teaching, and working for social change. In my younger years, I was a working musician, singer and songwriter, performing on stages from New York City to Europe. My formal education was in religious philosophy at Temple University.
My work as an advocate has taught me to be a better listener, and reinforced my core beliefs in peace and justice.
My experience on stage gives me the voice and confidence to perform your ceremony in a meaningful and clear way. Everyone will hear and understand what is being said.
And my long-standing, deep interest in world religions and philosophies, combined with my training as a celebrant, gives me a broad understanding of the meaning and use of ritual and ceremony.
I live in the Poconos with my husband of 45+ years and our Springer Spaniels. We are proud grandparents, avid gardeners, and active in social causes and the arts in our community. I am a graduate of the Celebrant Foundation and Institute, and a certified Humanist Society Celebrant, as well a member of other Humanist and wedding associations.
I am an instructor at the Celebrant Academy - which offers on-line courses preparing contemporary Celebrants, and those new to Celebrant or officiant work.
Here's an article about me, you may enjoy, and please check out my column - I have been writing about weddings for the Pocono Record (USA Today) since 2006. I'm included in Life-Cycle Ceremonies: A Handbook for Your Whole Life, featured in the Marlo Thomas book - It Aint' Over... Till It's Over, and author of The Orange on the Plate, a Liberated Seder.
